At Rectory CE Primary School, we are proud to work regularly with the talented team from Altru Drama Company. Their creative and thought-provoking workshops help bring important topics to life in a way that is both meaningful and memorable for our pupils.

KS2 Workshops: Understanding Respect and Inclusion

Earlier this year, our KS2 children took part in a series of drama workshops focused on Hate Crime, Diversity, Inclusion, and Respect. Through role play, storytelling, and group performance, pupils explored these complex issues in a safe and supportive environment. The sessions encouraged empathy, challenged stereotypes, and helped children understand the importance of kindness and equality in everyday life.

Rowan and Willow Class: Healthy Relationships and Online Safety

This term, Altru returned to work with our Rowan and Willow classes, diving into the themes of healthy relationships and the challenges of inappropriate messages. These workshops were designed to support our PSHE curriculum and equip pupils with the knowledge and confidence to navigate relationships and digital communication responsibly.

The sessions were engaging, age-appropriate, and delivered with sensitivity — helping pupils reflect on their choices, understand boundaries, and recognise the value of respect in all interactions.
