Our OPAL Journey

We’re thrilled to share that Rectory CE Primary School has started an exciting 18-month journey to make our playtimes even better!

•Over the coming months, our outdoor areas will be transformed with new resources and creative spaces where children can play, explore, and have fun together.

•Our staff team is already busy planning and designing, and soon we’ll be forming a pupil play team so that the children can help shape their new play areas too.

•It’s all about creating joyful, active, and imaginative playtimes for everyone!

Our Vision for Play at Rectory CE Primary School

Our playtime project is all about giving children more exciting, engaging, and meaningful play experiences every day. We want to:

•Create more exciting playtimes that children look forward to.

•Encourage independence and confidence through play.

•Support children to manage their own risks and make sensible choices.

•Ensure all areas are accessible so every child can join in.

•Provide a variety of play spaces with open-ended opportunities to explore and be creative.

•Help children develop imagination, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

•Make sure playtimes are full of fun and enjoyment in a safe environment.

•Give children the freedom to explore and play outdoors.

Together, we’re creating playtimes that help our children grow, learn, and thrive!
