At The Orchard, our curriculum is guided by Rectory’s vision and values, ensuring that every decision reflects our school’s ethos. We also follow our ENABLES approach, which defines what we aim to achieve for all pupils in The Orchard.

Every child is at the heart of our curriculum. We have adapted the EQUALS framework to ensure learning is meaningful, engaging, and aspirational, supporting children to grow, achieve, and develop their unique potential.

The ENABLES ethos underpins everything we do:

  • E – Empowering pupils for independent lives

  • N – Nurture

  • A – Aspire and Achieve

  • B – Belonging

  • L – Love of learning grows

  • E – Engage and Interact

  • S – Safe and Happy

Our curriculum is tailored to each individual child, ensuring that all EHCP long-term outcomes are planned for and fully supported. We use B-Squared to assess progress and inform next steps in learning, enabling every pupil to access the right support and achieve their potential.

Through this specialist, personalised approach, pupils at The Orchard are supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, in a setting that values inclusion, individuality, and wellbeing.
