Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium at Rectory CE Primary School
At Rectory Church of England Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child—regardless of background—has access to an enriched, high-quality education that nurtures both academic achievement and personal growth. Our Pupil Premium strategy is a key part of this commitment.
💡 What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to help close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers. It is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are:
Eligible for free school meals (FSM)
Looked-after children (CLA)
Previously looked-after children (PCLA)
From families with parents in the armed forces
🎯 Our Vision: Equity and Excellence for All
We believe no child should be left behind because of disadvantage. Our strategy is rooted in inclusion, aspiration, and compassion. We aim to:
Close the attainment gap year on year
Remove barriers to learning
Support social, emotional, and academic development
Ensure every child thrives in a nurturing, high-expectation environment
🛠️ How We Use the Funding

Enrichment opportunities to build cultural capital
Introduction of the No Outsiders programme to promote inclusion and equality
Emotional wellbeing support through DESTY and LEGO Therapy
📈 Our Goals (2025–2028)

Improved academic progress for disadvantaged pupils in reading, writing, and maths
Higher attendance and punctuality, aiming for 95%+ attendance
Enhanced emotional wellbeing, with fewer behaviour incidents and increased resilience
Stronger oracy and communication skills
Embedded trauma-informed practice across school and family support
Increased access to enrichment, ensuring all pupils experience trips, clubs, and cultural activities
🔍 Monitoring Impact
We rigorously track progress through assessments, pupil voice, attendance data, and wellbeing surveys. Our strategy is reviewed annually to ensure it remains responsive to the needs of our pupils and community.
