We’re thrilled to be taking part in the WOW Walk to School Challenge again this year at Rectory CE Primary School – and we’re ready to step into 2025/26 with energy, smiles, and a whole lot of walking!

🌟 What’s WOW All About?

WOW is a year-round challenge from Living Streets that encourages children to walk, wheel, scoot, or cycle to school. Every day, pupils record how they travel using the WOW Travel Tracker, and those who travel actively at least once a week for a month earn a limited-edition badge – designed by children, for children!

💚 Why We Love It at Rectory

  • It helps our children arrive at school energised and ready to learn.

  • It reduces traffic and congestion around our school gates.

  • It supports our school’s commitment to health, wellbeing, and sustainability.

  • It’s fun, inclusive, and builds a real sense of community.

🏅 What’s New This Year?

This year’s theme is “Walk With Joy”, celebrating the happiness that comes from moving together. There are 11 new badges to collect, all made from recycled plastic and designed by pupils across the UK.

🚲 How Families Can Get Involved

  • Walk, wheel, scoot, or cycle to school whenever you can.

  • If you live further away, try ‘Park and Stride’ – park 5–10 minutes away and walk the rest.

  • Chat with your child about their badge progress and celebrate their achievements!

Let’s make 2025/26 our most active year yet. Thank you for supporting our school’s journey to a healthier, greener future – one step at a time!
