EYFS Curriculum
At Rectory, we strive to provide our pupils with an immersive curriculum which provides challenge and inspiration regardless of our children’s individual needs or background. Our ambitious, sequential curriculum has the highest expectations for our pupils to gain the knowledge and experiences building rising aspirations for all our learners to achieve their goals. Our rich and broad offer, with enhancements such as forest schools, fosters respect for each other and the wider world and encourages everyone’s cultural experiences. By broadening horizons and providing core foundations for our learners’ next steps, everyone is afforded the choice of their path.
The Early Years Foundation Stage at Rectory strives to provide a caring and nurturing environment, where everyone can feel safe and happy. This gives children the best opportunity to thrive and make a positive start to school and begin to create long lasting friendships. We provide rich and stimulating learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of the children which spark curiosity, encourage them to explore ideas and develop their imaginative play. We create confident, independent and resilient learners who enjoy achieving what they set out to do and are always willing to ‘have a go’. At Rectory, we supplement a high-quality curriculum with fun, first-hand experiences in our ample indoor and outdoor provision, with enhancements such as forest school which build on the children’s core learning and broaden their horizons. In EYFS, we provide that crucial first step towards preparing our children for a lifetime of learning and experiences and ensuring they aspire to be the best that they can be.
