At The Orchard, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and flourish in a nurturing environment. We are an ASC Specialist Primary School Setting, offering a personalised approach to learning that celebrates each child’s individuality and potential.

Our Vision

The Orchard is a place where learning is meaningful, inclusive, and joyful. We aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, develop independence, and achieve their best – academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our Curriculum

We follow the EQUALS framework, which provides a flexible and child-centred approach to curriculum design. Our teaching and learning are carefully tailored through three curriculum pathways, ensuring that every pupil’s needs, abilities, and interests are met:

  • 🌱 Informal Pathway – for pupils at the earliest stages of development, focusing on engagement, communication, and interaction through sensory-rich and play-based experiences.

  • 🌿 Semi-Formal Pathway – for pupils who benefit from a structured yet flexible approach, developing key skills in communication, cognition, and personal development.

  • 🌳 Formal Pathway – for pupils ready for more subject-based learning, promoting independence, curiosity, and preparation for the next stage of education.

Each pathway values progress in its widest sense – celebrating achievements in learning, well-being, and personal growth.

Our School Community

With 32 places across four small, supportive classrooms, we offer a close-knit and caring community where every child is truly known, understood, and valued. Our highly skilled staff team work collaboratively with families and professionals to ensure that each child receives the right support to thrive.

Growing Together

At The Orchard, we see every learner as a unique individual on their own journey. Together, we nurture curiosity, confidence, and kindness – helping each child to grow their own way.
